How to Calculate CGPA?

CGPA is calculated by dividing total weighted grade points earned across all semesters by total credits attempted across those semesters.

CGPA = Σ(SGPA × Semester Credits) / Σ(Semester Credits)

Sample Calculation:

• Semester 1: SGPA 8.2 with 24 Credits → Weighted Points = 8.2 × 24 = 196.8
• Semester 2: SGPA 8.7 with 26 Credits → Weighted Points = 8.7 × 26 = 226.2
• Semester 3: SGPA 9.0 with 25 Credits → Weighted Points = 9.0 × 25 = 225.0

Total Weighted Points = 196.8 + 226.2 + 225.0 = 648.0
Total Credits = 24 + 26 + 25 = 75
CGPA = 648.0 / 75 = 8.64

CGPA Calculator FAQs

If every semester has the exact same credit weight (e.g. 24 credits per semester), you can simply enter 24 for each, or enter 1 for each credit field. The resulting CGPA will equal the simple average of your SGPAs.

You can add as many semesters as needed for your degree program (e.g. 2, 4, 6, 8, or 10 semesters) by clicking the + Add Semester button.
